In the 1920's, James Darling Murray (pictured left) acquired the practice from Frederick Swanwick and shifted his focus to the booming gold town of Mount Morgan. James Murray was also a local pastoralist of some note, with Stanwell Power Station now situated on land formerly held within his family.
By the time of James Murray's death in 1948, the practice was firmly established in Rockhampton, with Vivian Charles Roche continuing the practice until his untimely passing. In addition to his acknowledged legal skills, Vivian Roche was a man of humanity and compassion who tirelessly served his church and the community of Central Queensland.
The continuity of our firm name symbolises our historical connection with the development of Central Queensland, our support for people and communities in the region and our commitment to the ongoing success of our agricultural, commercial, industrial, mining and institutional operations.
Having served the Central Queensland region for 100 years, Swanwick Murray Roche remains well placed to partner the people, institutions and businesses of Central Queensland, working with you to achieve your goals in an ever-changing regional, national and global economy.
